ISOC Cameroon Chapter has organized successfully a public conference on June 6 2012 at the Advanced School of Posts and Telecommunications (ENSPT) of Yaounde to mark the celebration of the World IPv6 Launch in Cameroon.
The Conference was sponsored by the Internet Society (ISOC) via the Chapter Event funding programme and supported by the Advanced School of Posts and Telecommunications of Yaounde (ENSPT).
The conference brought together some Cameroon’s Internet Service Providers (Creolink, Ringo …), the Internet Regulator in Cameroon (ANTIC), the managers of ENSPT, network engineers and Internet users to exchange experiences, best practices and imagining best strategy for smooth migration to IPv6 in Cameroon.
The Conference led to the creation of the Cameroonian IPv6 Task Force and called for more awareness initiatives about the importance of IPv6. Every stakeholders of the development of the Internet in Cameroon has to take concrete actions to promote IPv6 adoption and effective deployment in their respective areas.
